“Kyiv Retro”: Late Night Show with Albert Tsukrenko and the band MOVA
To celebrate Kyiv Day, Albert Tsukrenko and the band MOVA invite you to a Ukrainian-style Late Night Show — an evening where retro comes alive, music sounds fresh and modern, and conversations become even more captivating.
What to expect:
— Live performances by MOVA: beloved Ukrainian hits from the 1960s–80s, along with new songs dedicated to Kyiv
— Unexpected guests and a unique show atmosphere
— Host Albert Tsukrenko — music journalist and musician — will blend stories, music, and humor into a vibrant and engaging program
Together, we’ll stroll through Kyiv’s streets — from the morning calm of Podil to the evening glow of Khreshchatyk — and sway to gentle waltzes on the waves of the Dnipro. It’s music that resonates through decades, and a city that unites hearts.
About the participants:
MOVA explores and performs songs from the golden era of Ukrainian pop — both in renditions close to the originals (“Kazka,” “Mozhe ya tebe vyhadav”) and in bold new arrangements (like “Chervona Ruta” in acid jazz, “Kyieve miy” in rhythm & blues). The band’s name is an acronym formed from the founders’ names.
Albert Tsukrenko is a music journalist, musician (of the band “Khammerman Destroys the Viruses”), and host of the podcast UNZIP, which dives into the archives of Ukrainian music from the 1960s–80s. Together with his guests, Tsukrenko listens to songs from Ukrainian Radio’s archives, searching for the roots of our musical identity.
Tickets:
Early bird prices are valid through April 13. Starting April 14, ticket prices will increase by 100 UAH. On the day of the concert, an additional 100 UAH will be added.
