Tom Harrell Trip

An outstanding American trumpeter, flugelhornist, composer, and arranger Tom Harrell will play in Kyiv on the 17 of August.

When Tom was twenty, he was playing with such a star as Arthur Blakey and touring with big bands of Stan Kenton and Woody Herman. Then as a member of the ensemble of one of the pioneers of funk and hard-bop, pianist Horace Silver, and in collaboration with Bill Evans, Dizzy Gillespi, Charlie Hayden, Lee Konitz and Phil Woods,

In the US, Tom is recognized as the “Trumpeter of the Year”, Newsweek called him a genius, and Entertainment Weekly proclaims him “the arrival of Harrell as a composer and main trumpeter of his generation”.

Now Tom is seventy-one, on his account is 260 albums, and he does not release a pipe from his hands, touring the world with concerts.

Harrell travels to the capital accompanied by the jazz titans like Ugona Okegvo (contrabass), Mark Turner (a saxophone) and Adam Cruise (drums). An eminent band will play at the walls of the famous for its jazz performances The Caribbean Club.
