For the first time in Ukraine with a solo concert, gangsta rap legend, Grammy Award winner, composer of the soundtrack of the cult series “Kenan and Kel”, rapper Coolio.

Coolio is an American rapper, composer, actor, cook, owner of the most prestigious music award Grammy, and just a legend of hip-hop and gangsta rap, mostly known for his album “Gangsta’s Paradise”, which is considered the classic of gangster rap of the mid-1990s.

The self-titled title track from the album “Gangsta’s Paradise”, based on Stevie Wonder’s famous funky melody “Pastime Paradise”, sounded in the movie “Dangerous Thoughts”, won first place in 13 countries, became the best-selling single of the year in the US and was awarded Grammy for the best solo performance of rap. It was the first rap track in history, which took first place in the British charts. The extraordinary success of the single was the first sign that gangster rap was gaining popularity outside the United States. Also, the song “Gangsta’s Paradise” in 2015 was used in the trailer of the game Need for Speed.

Throughout his career, Coolio has 6 Grammy nominations (one of which won), 6 MTV Video Music Awards (of which he won in 3 nominations) and two nominations for American Music Awars (in one nomination he won ). Coolio has such famous singles as “Fantastic Voyage”, “1, 2, 3, 4, Sumpin ‘New,” “CU When U Get There.” In addition, the artist is the composer of the title track of the cult series of the 1990s on Nickelodeon “Kenan & Kel” in the filming of which he also took part.In 1996, Culio teamed up with B-Real, Method Man, LL Cool J and Busta Rhymes to create the track “Hit ’em High” which became the soundtrack to the cult film with Michael Jordan “Space Jam”.

October 16, Coolio will give his first solo concert in Kiev in the Caribbean Club Concert Hall.
