Black Art Jazz Collective

25.05
Thursday

They devote songs to Barack Obama and have recorded their sensational record, playing in front of the public, at a jazz club in Connecticut Old Lyme. Hence its eloquent name Presented By The Side Door Jazz Club.

Black Art Jazz Collective is six African American musicians, a star jazz band, who celebrate black culture around the world, will play for the first time in Ukraine on the scene of Caribbean Club Concert-Hall.

When we say Caribbean Club Concert-Hall, we mean jazz evenings that take place here regularly. Jazz feels so good here, so comfortable. Young jazzmen, who are taking only their first steps in music, feel good here; as well as well-known jazz stars that used to shine on the stage of world festivals, feel good here.

As part of Black Art Jazz Collective, the capital will be raised to the ears of five virtuosos from music. Each of them had already become famous in the world of jazz by that time.

Behind the black jazz giant Wayne Escofferry contracts with the top recording studios, like Savant Records, and extensive tours around the world.

According to Downbeat’s magazine voting, and the Association of jazz US journalists, one of the brightest trumpeters Jeremy Pelt twice has been called a rising star among the trumpeters №1 («Rising Star on the Trumpet»). He’s been called the successor of the traditions of Freddie Hubbard and Lee Morgan.

The mentor of Jackie MacLean and Curtis Fuller, an outstanding trombonist James Burton III played with the orchestras of Ray Charles, Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Lionel Hampton, Carnegie Hall’s jazz band and Roy Hargrove’s big band.

The talented pianist Xavier Davis is known for his collaboration with trumpeter Freddi Hendrix, tenor saxophonist Tivon Pennicott, and bassist Yasushi Nakamura.

Having drifted almost all of Europe and the USA with tours, drummer Moussa Fader is inspired by Max Roach and Art Taylor and plays in several bands at once.

Universal bass player and true professional Darryl Hall managed to perform with many well-known jazz artists, and in 1996 he won the Thelonius Monk’s International competition of bassists.

The Black Art Jazz Collective’s first performance was at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola in April 2013. Having an aim to show the influence of African American culture on music and events in a society, they released the most symbolic disk Presented By The Side Door Jazz Club in 2016.

Among the album’s tracks, 2 tracks are dedicated to none other but the first black President of America Barack Obama. The record was made with a live audience in a jazz club in Connecticut Old Lyme, and one of the songs even captures acoustic of the backstage.

It turns out that the owners of the club, fans of the band for a long time, they willingly responded to the brave proposal of musicians. And we witnessed the creation of a truly revolutionary album.

Six different, but united by a single purpose and fuse of virtuous, they have their own “jazz” vision, and they skillfully “passed” through themselves all the jazz legacy of American music. Black Art Jazz Collective first performance at capital’s Caribbean Club Concert-Hall is on May 25.
