20 years of the album Tartak — HulyaiHorod. Tartak is no longer here, but its albums live on — and continue living in the hearts of those who still listen to them.
Twenty years ago, a work appeared in Ukrainian music that blended ancient voices with contemporary energy. Tartak — HulyaiHorod — the fourth album by Tartak and the first album by HulyaiHorod — became a meeting of two worlds, where ancestral Ukrainian chants found new life alongside modern musical forms. The album surprised many, became a favorite for some, even a cult classic for others, and continues to inspire new generations of listeners.
Why this evening matters:
– The original team behind the album will reunite specifically for this performance: former Tartak members Anton Yehorov and Oleksandr Polozhynskyi, joined by HulyaiHorod vocalists Iryna Baramba and Anastasiia Filatova.
– The program features the full Tartak — HulyaiHorod album, along with a selection of songs from other periods of Tartak’s work.
– “Music that had never existed before” returns to its roots while still sounding strikingly contemporary — like the voice of Ukrainian soil in a new rhythm.
This is a concert where not only the music matters, but also everything behind it: history, voices, tradition, courage, and the love for one’s own culture. A lineup and an evening like this may never happen again.
