His music, the music of the famous American saxophonist Arthur Porter Jr. will sound on the 13 of March in a cozy and truly jazz atmosphere of the Caribbean Club Concert-Hall. The music will be performed by the magician of saxophone Vladimir Lebedev in the company of talented and well-known Ukrainian jazz musicians.
Already at the age of nine Arthur Porter, Jr., was played in the orchestra of his father, a famous pianist, and accompanist, Arthur Porter, Sr., but … on drums. He abandoned the drums later, fascinated by musical harmonies and fell in love with the saxophone as an instrument, so much similar to a human voice.
In eighteen Porter got his most valuable lesson touring with these masters of jazz – organist, and saxophonist Jack McDuffie and saxophonist Faruh Sanders. He continued studying at the music conservatory in Berkeley and The Independent International University of Virginia, where he was a student of Ellis Marsalis, in between concerts.
Then he obtained a contract with Verve Forecast Records and produced by keyboardist Jeff Lorber debut album Pocket City. Key tracks, a tender ballad Inside Myself, a cover of Maxi Prista Close to You and the funky Pocket City featured on all smooth jazz and several local stations, and the latest video was broadcasted on VH1 and BET.
