Virtuoso pianist TEMPEI NAKAMURA & “TWO VIOLINS”

5.11
Saturday

Virtuoso pianist TEMPEI NAKAMURA (Japan) with the guest duo “TWO VIOLINS”

Premiere of the common program

The only concert in Kyiv!!!

Tempei Nakamura is a virtuoso pianist and composer, who has been playing piano since he was 5 years old, studying in Osaka and New York. In 2010, after performing in the Carnegie Hall (New York) for the first time, Tempei is going to the European tour, which has later become his annual tradition. Musician is well known in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Austria, Luxemburg, Estonia and Belarus. His talent and music were highly estimated in Ukraine as well, which Tempei has already visited for two times (in 2014 and 2015). His discography consists of 3 albums: “TEMPEIZM” and“TSUBASA”, recorded by EMI Music Japan, and “PHOENIX”, which was released by Nippon Colombia in 2012.

Charity is an inevitable part of Tempei’s life. He has been helping people since he was 14, when his house was destroyed by strong earthquake in 1995. In 2007 he started the Hidden Concert Tour project, which exists on voluntary basis in the Kii Mountain Range Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Musician also gives piano concerts for the victims of the Great East Japan earthquake. This year, he is planning to give charity concerts in Kyushu Island region, which was affected by the earthquake in 2016.

Charitable activity is also very important for the concert’s guests – the duo of ambitious and talented young violinists “TWO VIOLINS”. In spite of the duo members’ age (Tetiana Zhmendak and Illia Bondarenko are only 14 year old), they have already performed at the greatest venues and events in the world – like Carnegie Hall (New York, 2015); Prince Harry Charity Ball (London, 2014), where they collected 1,5 million pounds for the victims of war around the world; became a face of the international project “Puzzles of Eternity”, devoted to the sculptor Johann Georg Pinzel, and presented at the United Nations (New York, 2014).

Young musicians are also composers – in particular, Illia Bondarenko’s variations “Meditation on Violence“, composed in 2013, were performed in New York during the meeting of UN diplomats and the Pope devoted to problems of global peace (2015).

Violinists successfully perform in America and Europe, they are also very popular at home, in Ukraine. In 2015, «TWO VIOLINS» and Natalia Lebedeva Trio gathered the biggest audience in the history of the most famous jazz festival in Eastern Europe «ALFA JAZZ FESTIVAL» – 2500 people at the Rynok Stage.

It seems that Tempei and «TWO VIOLINS» were brought together by fate. With no preliminary agreements, they have visited each other’s concerts in autumn 2015. Then it all became clear – musicians had to give a concert together! It won’t take long until we will be able to enjoy the fruits of Japanese-Ukrainian friendship, because the concert is coming very soon – on November 5, at the Caribbean Club concert hall!

The concert is supported by Ukraine-Japan Center NTUU “KPI“.
