Skryabin Concert to the 50th anniversary

“Perhaps I’d be better off living like everyone else, but I’ve always wanted to be different. It’s so boring to go with the tide beside all of them…” — in this phrase, that belongs to one of Andriy Kuzmenko’s songs, he expressed his attitude towards life.

He really was different, unlike anybody, neither in music nor in life.

It was determined by fate that Andriy died very early, but his music and his memory is embalmed in our hearts.

On August 17, 2018, Andriy Kuzmenko, a well-known musician and leader of the “Scryabin” band, would have turned 50 years old.

For all of us, of course, it is more familiar and closer to call him Kuzma Scryabin.

Charming, talented, with an amazing sense of humour, good-natured and insanely hardworking Kuzma, completely devoid of star disease, tragically died at the peak of his popularity.

It seemed that all the doors that had been closed to him and his band for many years had finally opened. The anniversary tour “Skryabin 25 Years” was held with great success, one after another new songs became hits, Kuzma had to become the star trainer of the first season of the TV show “League of Laughter” and so much more that awaited this extraordinary man and artist in future…

If it were not for the terrible car crash that happened in the morning of February 2, 2015.

Without exaggeration, it was a shock for the whole country.

Kuzma was one of the few public people who allowed himself to be honest, straightforward and principled.

We all remember his harsh criticism of the government in the songs and videos that he shot while being on tour in the country.

All this found and finds an instant response in the minds of all the people.

The lyrical ballads written by Kuzma and his band resonate in souls of people.

Such songs as “Old photos” («Старі фотографіі»), “To Keep the Silence” («Мовчати»), “People [are] like ships” («Люди як кораблі»), “Places of Happy People” («Місця щасливих людей»), “Sleep by yourself” «Спи собі сама» and many other songs of Kuzma entered the gold collection of Ukrainian rock and became truly loved for a huge audience.

The concert and production company “Magic Box”, which collaborated with the Scryabin band during 2012–2015 and, as it happened, held the last but one concert in Kuzma’s life, with special feeling invites to the Caribbean Club Concert Hall for a big concert dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Kuzma on March 30, 2019.

That evening you will hear all your favourite songs performed by the band “Skryabin” and the leader of the band “Yurkesh” Yurii Yurchenko.

For the first time accompanied by a symphony orchestra!
