On the International Jazz Day, Aniko Dolidze Big Band presents a new Ella & Duke program.

Ella Fitzgerald is one of the most influential singers of all times. Her phrasing and improvisations are truly admirable. Ella was gifted with a unique voice — in terms of flexibility, range, and internal energy. Now her innovative vocal techniques are now studied by musicians around the world.

Duke Ellington was a jazz reformer. He wrote hundreds of tunes now praised as jazz standards. Ellington’s compositions allow each member of the orchestra to play his best, without overshadowing each other.

On April 30 in Caribbean Club, you will hear both Ellington’s instrumental tunes and Ella’s vocal hits. The songs from Ella’s songbooks, dedicated to famous composers, including Duke Ellington.
