Biplan performs in Ukraine
With the first concert for 4 years
March 30 | Caribbean Club | 20:00
The band Biplan paved many ways to the hearts of the Lithuanian public and became “People’s” in their native country. Harmonious guitar pop with a shadow of indie-folk songs about youth, summer nights, love and romance of the seaside town – that’s why Max Melmana and the band become beloved in the 90’s.
Today Biplan’s music is tenderly understood and familiar for everyone, whenever you are 17, 24 or 42, whenever you’re from Lithuanian Nida or Klaipeda, the capital or Ukraine or ports of Black Sea. The story of Biplan relations with Ukraine in recent years is very rich in events. The front man of the band received the Order “For Merit to Lithuania”. The President of Lithuania has awarded Biplan for active participation in campaigns for supporting Ukraine in Lithuania and Ukraine.
And Biplan sings in Ukrainian! This is so good and without an accent that it seems that they are a new Ukrainian group. We are forever young, Hey Ya Ho, Amore are Biplan translations of Lithuanian singles from the album Visi keliai veda prie jūros (All roads lead to the sea), full of optimism, romantic.
Biplan played nearly 80 performances last year, the biggest of which was a solo concert for 7,000 spectators on the Day of Restoration of Independence of Lithuania. Among them the band performed at Atlas Weekend festival and Days of Street Music in Kyiv.
Biplan will perform at the Caribbean club on the 30th of March. This will be their first solo concert for the past 4 years in Ukraine, and quite exciting for a group event. Furthermore, the band is going to present a new Ukrainian-language song. Especially for the concert at the Caribbean Club in March, Biplan is going to release EP Ukrainian songs with a completely new track in it.
